Good morning, I am currently using the Yonettes configuration for cinema. Cinema is the one I created at the beginning. The one I am interested in you modifying is Music (mainly) and Party, which is for very specific moments. Yonettes is quite good for me and I am very happy with it. Unless you see something very wrong, please do not modify it. A question, every time we modify a file, do we have to go through the auto-phase?
You will need to re-do the phase whenever there are changes made to the crossover, subwoofer settings. I noticed that you also didn’t do any phase correction in Yonette’s profile. I suggest you save a copy of the arc3 file and do the auto phase adjustment on the copy and leave the original intact. If you don’t like the result, just re-upload the original arc3 file.
Let me know how it goes for the profile “MUSIC-AV”.
Ok i’m at work just now. Here’s 9AM now this afternoon i wiil tell you how it goes.
Hi here i am, yesterday I was able to try out the modifications, wow!, much better than the last measurements. I think there’s just a little or nothing to improve, maybe a little more deep bass, to notice the kick of the drums a bit more, but that’s just a search for perfection for me, as it is now I’m more than satisfied. I felt frustrated for having acquired a device of this level and not being able to get enough out of it. Thank you very much #desray for your help, without it I don’t think I would have been completely happy with the device.
Unlike multi-channel setup (5.1/7.1) which is much easier. For 2 channel, you are relying on the mains to cover a wide range of freq, if there is a dip or peak across the freq range, it will be more noticeable, we have to rely on ARC to find the right x-over between mains and your single subwoofer.
Lastly, you may want to experiment with the max freq correction to say 500Hz and listen if it will bring out the “original” sound signature of your Yamaha monitor spks. Remember, don’t push the bass too hard as it will ultimately impact the clarity of the vocals and instruments.
I’m actually pretty happy with what you’ve achieved, they sound more like they used to sound before. Also, up until now I was sending music from the tidal app on my shield, and I wasn’t happy because it sounded muffled and I wasn’t taking full advantage of the quality of the tracks. I’ve changed this and now I stream from my PC with roon and the situation has improved. I’m in the process of finding a wiim ultra or an eversolo a6 at a good price and centralizing everything through them. For now I’ll continue with your speaker configuration (I’d rather not touch anything so as not to ruin it ;)).
I would like to ask you, #Desray, about the stereo music on all speakers (Fiesta on my settings), could you take a look at it? Or do I just have to copy the #Yonettes settings from the cinema? I understand not, because the multichannel sound distribution is not the same as taking the stereo signal to each speaker. If you can/want to do me the favor of taking a look at it, everything would be ready, because the music is perfect, I’m not going to touch anything and in the cinema either. Thank you very much for your invaluable help.
Received offer to upgrade to avm 90 abt 4.7k. U guys tink worth upgrade or invest on eversolo dmp 8 or 10.?
Just pulled trigger bought avm 90. Coming nrxt week

Hi Team,
(please let me know if i shouldn’t be posting this here)
I notice the Anthem community on this forum is very active and well supported in Singapore as opposed to the Arcam one. I’ve been contemplating between these 2 AVRs purely because I’ve heard them both and they both sound great for 2 Channel music (in addition to the home theater experience). Would love to hear anyone’s views here on whether they went through the same Anthem vs Arcam contemplation in Singapore.
there are a lot of forums worldwide but locally it’s a bit more nuanced. the Anthem looks easier to setup and more support here perhaps ? Arcam has a 1 year warranty with the local distributor as opposed to the global 5 year warranty they offer (Anthem is 2 years locally). the e77 - anthem distributor also offers the installer come home and calibrate the AVR within the price. Am looking at the Anthem MRX 540 or MRX 740 or Arcam AVR5 t.
I’ll add a power amp later if required when i upgrade my LR fronts from the current Monitor Audio Gold 50 (4G) to Sonus Faber Sonetto VIIIs.
My current setup is a 5.1 with an upgrade to 5.1.2 down the road. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks and happy weekend
Welcome on board…there are indeed very few Arcam users in the local AV community. NAD is another brand that seldom speak of here. In Singapore, most of us are using Audyssey MultEQ XT32 RoomEQ and that usually exist in most Japanese brands of AVR/Amp/PreAmps. I can’t speak for others but I discovered Anthem by sheer chance…I didn’t even listen to the sound and I was surprised by how good it eliminates the “boominess” of the bass that often drown out the surrounds and at times affected dialogue clarity.
My first Anthem model is the MRX 720 which I later upgraded to 1120. I am currently using the MRX 1140 (Gen-3). I am very impressed by its proprietary RoomEQ styled, “Anthem Room Correction” or ARC. The latest iteration is called, “ARC-Genesis”. If you value clarity of the sound over loud bass, Anthem is the one to go for. In my opinion, ARC-Genesis is a far better RoomEQ over Audyssey MultEQ32 XT and I have extensive experience with both to say this.
You can go for Arcam with Dirac Live as well but there isn’t a large user base to get advice and assistance. So I would suggest you do more research and hopefully Arcam users can chip in. Otherwise, I would go for Anthem. I have had helped several members, mostly non-locals with their .arc3 file modification and have achieved good results.
Happy hunting…
Thanks for the feedback. Appreciate it.
Hello everyone, I would need your help with a problem I have with the MRX 1140 and Arc. It turns out that I have changed the Atmos speakers and I can’t make a new measurement ONLY of those speakers and then integrate it into the calibration I have right now. It seems that it only does a calibration of the new speakers, but it doesn’t integrate it into the different profiles already created. Can you help me in the process? Thank you very much, I can’t find information on how to do it.
I found this forum a couple of days whilst browsing for tips for my AVM 90 / ARC Genesis.
This thread has been a joy to read, it is super informative.
Had my system for 5 months or so and feel as though that I am in the final tweaking stages.
@desray If I was to send you my file over would you be so kind as to have a look at and give some feedback please?
@Damian, you can send me the .arc3 file to admin@avdisco.com and i’ll take a look.
Cheers.
PM`d - Thank you
Replied. I have sent you the modified arc3 file. Do share your experience here.
