How much is the TDAI 3400 now?

I believe around $10k

Welcome to the room perfect family. I still find it hard to beat this Room correction software. It’s in my opinion, one of the best room correction software out there.

Even if my current MP50 is obsolete; I would still opt for another processor with the same room correction technology.

Despite the room acoustics and treatment, I still found benefits with room perfect. The biggest single benefit lies in time alignment

As you have realised by now… if it sounds good for music, I assure u , u will love it for HT. Especially when you have so many speakers and subs to control

Thanks. Current intent is to have the TDAI 3400 setup as a stereo pre. Have my Yamaha CX5200 LR fed into it and run bypass for HT.

Am pondering whether to go for the MP40 instead to run bith stereo and HT…and frankly also wondering whether the stereo performance will be as good as the TDAI.

I figure RP done for stereo and for HT may have different outcome.

Isn’t this a waste for the power amp section?
You could have saved a lot going for the 1120 instead.
Or use the funds for 3400 to subsidise the cost of the MP40.
You mentioned the Yammy 5200 (I used the 5100 b4 switching to AVM70), what power amps do you have? If they are decent ones, I would imagine you’d get equivalent stereo performance vs the 3400.

Earlier I had ran similar config as what you are thinking now - ie I’ve the yammy sending LR to my MBL pre HT-bypass input for HT duties. For dedicated stereo, the setup is a pure MBL pre-power to the L+R. The difference is noticeable better but I wouldn’t say it’s night and day. Thus, if you have a good power amp to the L+R, I find the influence of the pre-amp is not that great. This of course could be just in my specific situation.

Yep. Thus a little hesitancy on getting this. Probably over the weekend will try the setup using the internal amp.

RP is key here I believe. With it, the sound balance make almost all songs from Tidal listenable. Have trial out Lumin D2, McIntosh C2500 and PowerBloc 2 amp in various combination. While it does improve the sound, does not make those songs listenable in my room.

1120 do not have XLR and Tidal Connect. Something that I will like to have, but may consider living without it…

Current amp is MX5200.

Then going for MP40 is the best option IMHO.
You get RP, Tidal and XLR plus RP for HT is potentially a step up from the yammy.
You can then dispose of the yammy to further subsidize the move.

Amp wise, I do suspect the 3400 is better.
Since u hv it for home trial, you can use the pre-out to the MX for the A/B comparison.

Thanks… i have a Legacy Audio PowerBloc 2 with the 3400.

Yes.
Now…yamaha / 3400 / powerbloc
Tomorrow…yamaha/3400
Someday soon…yamaha/powerbloc again

Easier to compare, no need memory…then decide 3400 or mp or nothing…lol

Hi
With Lyngdorf MP , are they able to store 2 RP and easily switch between the 2?..like a RP for Stereo and another for HT

Thanks

Yea, u have that option, for Global preset and Focused Preset. U can have multiple focus profiles to your liking. One for HT one for Music, one with no eq , one with Schroeder eq etc etc

Thanks
That means I could do a RP set for just 2 speakers and another RP setup for the full HT. I guess each will have its own Focus and Global preset.

Like what the TDAI 3400 can do.

U can only do one set of RP. Because the room remains the same regardless of stereo or Ht configuration because the speakers are in the same room.

I’m not sure if u can do 2 sets of RP, one for master room one for common room. I didn’t explore that part

So that won’t change. But filters u can apply separately or choose not to have filters at all. Or add multiple focus points or the king seat

Looks like this is the way…to go.

I like the TDAI 3400 in stereo but do not appreciate it when it is running bypass with Yamaha AVP or using the Equibit for HT.

Now I have TDAI 3400 running as an integrated and HT separate. Swoping speaker connection manually. Feel like having the best of both world abeit the manual intervention.

Hopefully, replacing that with MP and a 2 channel power will give similar experience.

Lol… He’ll not walk alone, I bet there are other members using Lyngdorf as well.

Wahahaha. I will still pester @Ronildoq :smirk::rofl:

Ok with this update. Same problem persists with Apple TV to playback on Atmos (Netflix,Disneyplus & Simply South {Indian Streaming Movies}). The buzzing sound is still there.

Seems that Apple TV is a challenging device to marry with. Some customer of mine also has issue with the HDFury Arcana with it but then the issue lies with the APTV. Intermittent it is.
