what a day of updates on TCL models expected to come in weeks…
…11 models of different sizes!
C655 is not forgotten! and those who’re interested will likely to see if C955 will be brought in, as the X955 could be too hot to afford @$9+++,
it seems as if TCL is “re-organizing” their range in accordance to display specification. a new “V#B” is coming soon according to NEA’s database.
V#B- basic display with LED backlight, entry level specs and entry level price.
P##**5- previously basic LED backlight display now comes with QLED layer.
C##**5- the mid end range with mid end specs as with the previous years’ releases.
X#*#**5- the higher end range with “the best of” display tech. high number dimming zones miniLED is currently the minimum to date. no clear indication yet whether microLED display will be classed into the X range.
#*- the first number determines the “level” within the range.
#**- the 2nd number determines the “year of launch, or manufacture”.
from the South American site, there’s no indication that C655 come with miniLED in contrast to HiSense that puts in miniLED to their mid-entry U6@pro range in local scene. the C655 seems more like spec’ed to compete with HiSense U6@(non pro) without miniLED but thru the inclusion of better Picture Engine Processor, and not forgetting QLED layer.
i’m unable to tell the V6B coming soon, whether the “6” refers to “year of launch, or manufacture”. one thing i’m pretty sure, V is the shortest form of Value, in Value For Money in basic functionality, sort of direct competition to HiSense A6@.
in the screen cap previously shared, only 43inch was assessed. the listing is now complete with addition of 50, 55, 65, and 75" models. this “new” range is not listed in TCL Global site yet, but currently retails in Maldives. specification of 75V6B for ur reference, if u’re interested…
huuuge updates of new models in Courts page!
16 new models added, still short of few numbers of certified Energy Efficient models though.
just when we thought that 115inch is what TCL-CSOT can produce, the next target…
…130inch production plan and test going on!
although production technique is in the process of evolving… i’m confused, wouldn’t 21:9 or 2:1 aspect ratio be practical for either enthusiast products or business products supplies?
with DENNIS latest review…
…TCL’s “The Creative Life” company abbreviation got beaten.
TCL will turn to be “Tune, Calibrate and Learn” when out of the box experience turns sour to the next new buyers.
PRE-ORDER PRICE for TCL’s competition to
SAMSUNG’s FRAME TV and HiSense FRAME TV is out!
currently only 2 sizes is listed, “Medium @55” and “Xtra Large @75”, $2000 and $3000 respectively.
hmmm… would 65" fall in-between @$2500?
for the moment i couldn’t find any additional info whether the display come with built in speakers,
hence when you click to the link and look at the specs, only the separate audio body B&O designed 3.0.2 soundbar is listed together with separate subwoofer… that creates an impression that “speakers not built in”.
maybe some had noticed, the above pre-order price
excludes the movable stand that is essential not only for display mounting…
…but soundbar mounting as well. since mounting of soundbar onto wall may not be feasible option in some buyers’ environment as well, considering that some buyers may have feature wall installation or some other wall surface treatment.
TCL’s movable stand is priced @$300, pre-order price.
adding that to initial price of the display+soundbar package, it won’t be competitive to HiSense anymore, even though TCL may score with multi-channel audio separation from display unit.
hence, it won’t be surprising that some will ask… is there any model that comes without the separate B&O designed 3.1.2 multi-channel audio package?
there is!
without the separate soundbar+sub package,
but with just 2.0ch drivers integrated to the display that may not be play loud.
just that it is not listed in TCL Singapore’s product page yet.
should there’s a sign that the ##A300w series without the separate soundbar+sub package had been sent to the respective regulating offices for assessment and certification, i’ll keep this thread updated.

slim and cool it may, due to the slim-ness, i have my doubts that the backlight type…
not full array miniLED, but rather edge light employed that have it’s limitation on brightness, and should the backlight brightness keep set in it’s highest level, heat produced from the LEDs will likely to spoil the white diffuser layer film after months of usage.
