here is a review from Indonesia on the 75inch AsiaPacific variant…
…which compares to U.S. version, should have about 10% difference in specs, which STOP the FOMO will be doing a review on.
watch this thru your laptop or home computer such that you can make use of the YouTube auto-translation on the subtitles as that video is spoken in Indonesian language.
expect a total add up of 15% in grammatical and spelling errors in translation process.
affordable wider color gamut QLED TVs coming… a little too late!
the most affordable TVs(non-miniLED) with QLED layer known to those who keep an eye on local brand, PRISM+.
however, there’re other options around(currently only one to be frank) that would easily escape potential buyers radar that didn’t emphasize on the specification of the product when displayed in MEGA-mart sales corner… probably to slow their sales process due to limited stocks in w’hse or probably some may noticed, but turned off by the included aftersales warranty package.
the 3rd player coming into town, will be AOC from PHILIPS, to offer Direct-LED models with QLED layer embedded, as well as probably 3yrs full warranty…
…if PHILIPS 3yrs aftersales warranty policy stays. while AiWa may sell their non-miniLED QLED TV @ around $700 for their 55inch model that comes with “half-phuck” 2yrs warranty,
my guess for PHILIPS AOC to be around $850 or lower for their 55U8030 with 3yrs full warranty.
but… probably by mid October, Courts, as well as other 2 major local mega electrical store GainCity and AudioHouse will have their display setups.
SG pricing is not confirmed yet. from the leak of quotation mentioned in HWZ, TCL’s 5000nits 85X955 could be priced @ $5k… that would make the X955 more sought after than HiSense which carries the most local detest VIDAA OS.
new models from various makers launched in iFA2023

Oooooo S$5000++ for that TCL X955 85inch is soooo tempting. Way cheaper than what the Sony X95L cost right now at that size (S$9999) & the TCL actually has more bells & whistles than the Sony, granted the Sony will highly likely probably have an overall better picture quality…but i highly doubt it will S$4000 worth of “better”.
The only question now is has TCL improved their build quality & panel quality for their so called “Premium” X955 range, that is something the Sony X95L will no doubt have over the TCL X955 & something TCL definitely had to improve on! Fingers crossed!!!
another big question mark about the TCL X955 issue is the pentonic chip, Sony and Panasonic ran into issues with the chip, Pana dropped it & decided not to use them this year, Sony yet to release the A95L and apparently the delay was due to issues with the pentonic chip.
Pentonic for 4K TV comes in 2 numbers, the 700 and 1000. i’ve no idea what Sony and Panasonic decided on. one thing for sure… PHILIPS yr’23 miniLED seems to be delayed as it was confirmed to employ the Pentonic1000.
when we talk about Pentonic chip, we immediately would think of mid-highs, or premium models that would priced $4000 and above, depending on size.
now be surprised, and excited that the Pentonic700(presumably the MT9618, lower end of Pentonic700) will be in the entry level DirectLED-TV P745 series, but only in the 2500euros 98inch model, not the others.
The Pentonic 1000 is the one that has issues, if I am not wrong no TVs with that Pentonic 1000s has shipped yet. Recently Vincent from HDTV played with the A95L for a short time and it sounded like they finally have sorted issues and it’s ready now…but this week there seems to be big question marks over shipment of A95L again, looks like those who pre-ordered the TV won’t get it anytime before mid october, another delay by the looks of it.
as i’ve shared earlier, PHILIPS had submitted their AOC badged budget range QLEDTVs for NEA assessment, got their Efficiency Score TICKS and those will like to go $20/inch with a strong backing of 3yrs warranty by PHILIPS.
locally, VV Digital, the importer of AIWA badged TVs had revised their warranty package from 3yrs ALL COVERED WARRANTY to 2yrs PARTIAL COVERAGE WARRANTY. the latter will likely to deter buying crowds interest and probably cast a poor impression that such short warranty product wouldn’t last. hence, their first 2 QLED TVs with webOS goes as low as $11/inch in Giant Megamart.
the new models above recently launched in Taiwan, for example, in X-rate would be expensive base on the inclusion of QLED layer+Google TV OS in specification… when compared to the $1100 webOS 75inch model u saw that doesn’t comes with QLED layer.
after minLED, PRISM+ in response to big screen demand potentials…
…submitted their first 77inch OLED Biggie for Energy Efficiency Assessment and scored 4 ticks! along with others in the chart screen cap. will that draw some interests? let’s see how their pricing will win how many hearts, thru the SkyWorth built product.
