The April Fool’s release seems to have a lot of issues. How’s the stability of 6.2.5?

Can elaborate what are some of the issues reported for the v6.2.0 (April Fool’s version)? I don’t see any issue. Same goes for v6.2.5. Didn’t mess much with the settings.
All those 6.2.0 issues raised @ the Zidoo forum. Such as DV playback, TV interoperability changes (EDID, DV/HDR recognition).
I see. I didn’t encounter any of those issues because I don’t use TV.
I’ll be receiving my unit soon and need a stable firmware to start on. Thanks for the info.

May I suggest starting with 6.1.05G. I have been on this version for some time, pretty stable.
Whenever you’re ready to begin living at the edge, you can update to the newer beta releases.
If you start tinkering with beta release, just a word of advise, familiarise yourself with the procedure to reinstall factory image. Reason: one cannot downgrade from newer firmware to older firmware, to downgrade- one needs to go back to factory default and then upgrade to the desired version.

If your setup allows, and if u don’t mind testing… can v6.2.5 play the 400Mbps crazy high bitrate test clip over network/NAS without stuttering?
On my setup, with 6.1.05G, only 200Mbps can consistently play over the network without stuttering…
For Jellyfin users, there is a modded apk that is integrated with Zidoo internal player. Try it out…
Very sleek client, the integration still has little quirks.
On the other hand, if you’re a Kodi user, the ZDMC-Jellyfin integration works pretty well!
ps: Jellyfin is a very nice media manager.
Tested and stuttered heavily even on NFS protocol which to me has a much more consistent throughput rate over a network.
However, I am able to playback the 400Mbps version at an acceptable framerate if run on my SSD portable hard drive.
Waah, got modded UHD3000 with ESS9068 Pro DAC.
Not surprise…the chasis itself is big enough for “operation” to be performed.

That’s right…I’m pleasantly surprised as well. How is the d/l speed?
I guess it took just over a minute to download. If I remember correctly, I was seeing 9-12 MB/s on the screen.
