Hi guys, is the latest firmware still the Beta version and if it is how long does it usually take for Anthem to release the full version. Many thanks.
Are you referring to the periodic firmware updates that we received for the processor (MRX/AVM) or are you referring to the ARC s/w? If its the latter, there is no “new” beta version. The stable version (1.7.4) is the latest one. If it is the latter, you just make sure the Beta release checkbox is unchecked and any firmware that pops up will be the “latest” stable one.
Hi, I am referring to the 2.3.205 Beta firmware update. Is that still Beta and when roughly do you think the full firmware will arrive ( approximately).
Many thanks.
Its hard to say…the current beta firmware has some issue with the bass region so you might want to wait.
Hi guys again, so what seems to be the best fix for the weak bass after the latest Beta firmware update. I read that re-calibration does the trick along with factory reset. Is this the best option, maybe this doesn’t even work who knows. I am gonna try this weekend.
Yes, if you are experiencing a drop in bass output, you can restore it by re-calibrating your system.
Hi there is the latest firmware update still on Beta.
Yes. no need to wait for stable. Just update.
Ok nice, but I keep hearing some people say even with new measurements the bass is still weak with the new Beta update.
Just do it…there is nothing wrong with the new beta. If you are still not convinced, then stick with the version you have now. Bear in mind that any new firmware down the road isn’t going to make your system suddenly “sound better” than before. Majority of the time, those updates are to fix some anomalies (case in point the noisy spinning fan that drives some of the users insane) to make the system more stable, not the sound.
A new beta firmware (ver 2.3.213) is out which is believed to have fixed the previous version that caused the anemic bass.
Hi there, do we need to recalibrate with the latest Beta firmware update.
Updated mine. So far so good. No issue. For those on the fence or suffered weak bass on the last beta veer 2.3.205. This new beta confirmed resolved the bass issue. You can re-upload the last arc profile that worked for you after the update.
I was informed by a member that the new beta firmware has a possible bug that provides inaccurate distance to the surround and surround back speakers. The difference is off by about 100cm. Is anyone experiencing this “new” distance bug? Pls report your findings here.
Hi
Just got the mrx 1140 avr coming from marantz 7015 AVR
Getting used to this beast its very advanced then marantz for sure
I want to ask about the update only the software from web ui setting in update field is to use for software update or anything else needs to be updated which i am not aware of
And any tips for me
One step at a time…here’s what you need to do first.
- Connect a wired ethernet cable from your network switch/router to the MRX-1140 to get the update.
- Go to the Web UI and update the firmware. This firmware will update the DSP and MCU on the MRX-1140 to ensure it will work optimally when you do the calibration.
- Next, install the ARC Genesis s/w (ver 1.7.4) from Anthem’s official website.
- Run the s/w and if all goes well, your MRX-1140 will be picked up by the s/w.
Note: It is important to update the firmware for the MRX-1140 to the latest version to ensure it works well with the ARC Genesis.
- Proceed to run the calibration.
You can make further changes to the more advanced settings once you get the hang of it.
and if the bass is missing or weak rerun the calibration right?
i read above for some the bass is weak
That’s right. Re-run ARC if you can.
There is a new firmware update (213) for now the bass seems good.
