One sentence to sum up the video…“Its better to have ARC turned on than off, regardless whether you are using the previous gen or latest gen of MRX/AVM”.
I just want to re-visit this topic where most will advise to use the Quick Measure tool to get subwoofers to be within a certain SPL before performing ARC. After playing with this for some time, I have discovered some interesting things on how the subwoofer’s initial response will ultimately affect the outcome of your ARC results. Ask yourself the following question:
Which is more important when getting your subwoofer(s) ready for ARC?
- Getting the subwoofer SPL to the correct level - i.e. 71dB for a dual subwoofer or 75dB for a single subwoofer
- Getting a response curve to be as flat as possible between 200Hz and 20Hz or lower even if the SPL is not at the correct SPL level
Clearly, the answer is BOTH but what happen if variation in SPL prevents you from getting BOTH right? And what happen if you can only get one of the variables working? Which one should take precedence over the other? Let me hear your views on this before I shared mine.
Hmmm using quick measure i set both my subs to 75…….
You may try to measure your room noise floor for a start, then add 40dB to it. Example, my noise floor is 34 to 36… I add 40dB to it before calibration.
I read somewhere this will be a good start since individual noise floor varies from room to room, places to places.
Thats an interesting idea, ill look next time…
Wished the AVM70 remote was better or at least anthem sort the app out to use on phones etc. My buttons on my remote are a little clunky and for such a high priced product I would have expected better!
I concur here too. First impressions for me i dont like the volume up\down button…
Very strange as that is the button at fault lol
Yes. The weakest is the remote control button, particularly the volume up/down. This has been a constant complain from many users.
Oddly, Anthem has been using the same remore controller design for the last decade or so.
Thanks for sharing…at least we know there is a HDMI handshake bug that needs to be fixed by Anthem for 4K@120fps.
Thanks for sharing…
@Ronildoq, any update on your AVM90 availability?
Still no news !! Waiting… waiting…
I haven’t tried it yet so not sure what it brings?
