New Denon/Marantz 2023 lineup to feature Dirac Live!

I can’t believe what’s happening here. Ever since Masimo, the parent conpany of Sound United took over the reign in Apr this year…this is the first big news that I will never believe even when it comes up…first of all, Audyssey partnered D&M for the longest time and even introduced MultiXT-X Pro software to compete against Dirac and the likes sometime in the first quarter of this year. I guess the adoption rate is poor becasue one have to pay an additionl $200 to acquire the software and its only avaliable in the Windows Store. I guess instead of paying for Audyssey solution, D&M decides to partner with Dirac as an option to upgrade, meaning one still needs to pay for the DLBC license in order to do calibration. We all knew this is equally expensive. I guess the winner at the end of the day is consumers as we are now given a choice to choose how far we want to go when it comes to audio calibration.

So one thing leads to another. One may need to get better mic.

Agreed. The Audyssey stock mic may not cut it if going to use it for Dirac. Not sure how this is going to develop. Its really an odd move but probably a necessay move to differentiate itself from North American brands ike Anthem, Arcam, Monolith

Imagine when you do audyssey, vs dirac, and there’s difference (though less likely) from REW after cross checking…

One can of worms being opened. Lol

WOW!

Ground breaking news sia!

This will bring the denon and marantz to a whole new level.

Hope the price can remain competitive even though have to buy the bm module… Prices of jap AVRs nowadays is crazy

Only time will tell…but before that, we need members to buy one and test it out first

Buy the marantz(again), ditch the Trinnov lol

Who? You?

I’m ready to buy! Was going for the Onkyo then the reviews on sound weren’t good and the company going bankrupt added some risk. So, this is just perfect, but no idea when it will get here.

Seems like price jump a lot

Let me know. Give you good price

Ok bro. Thanks.

Did they announce the denon higher end models yet? 6 series and above.

Only saw the entry to mid range ones thus far

If you are saying X8500H level? Then not yet. I can see the possibility (if Sound United wants) of X8500H getting an upgrade to Dirac Live? It is after all, a feature add-on (like Auro 3D) from what I read where you will pay a sum to upgrade.

Yes the 8 series. :slightly_smiling_face:

Well i hope they make it available as an upgrade too on 8500. That would be awesome man

This is correct. In fact they should! This will win the cockles of many hearts with their flagships don’t you think?
