If my JL Audio up the lorry, I’ll definitely consider this Def Tech DN series. It probably have the same bass signature as my JL Audio sealed subs. Previously at your place I found the bass is a tad boomy to my liking and it “masked” the sound stage imo but I’m pretty sure your sound stage will be much much better now. May drop by your place to have a listen soon. Will arrange with you again.

Bro @Wind, for u to like the bass coming from the subs u were using, esp just based on the dn12, i think the sound signature of the sub shld be v good for HT. Ha…
Hope data bass will do some measurements on the dn12 and dn15. I just checked the specs, looks promising.

That’s where I Jio my potential client come and have a listen and they immediately bought DN15 in pair, 2 different clients in a row just based on the DN12.

Did u happen to have heard any dual e112 HT set-up b4 that is well calibrated? If yes, what are the main differences in esp the sound signature between the 2?
I see this as a worthy potential replacement for my e112 ha (similar thoughts as @desray)… And it’s much cheaper!

Well placement plays a big part and I believe everyone knows that.
I tried calibrating and playing with JL in my room before long way back… I’ll gear toward DN12. It’s my preference hence take it with a pinch of salt

Here is another client who gotten the DN12. He would have went for the DN15 if space is of no constraint.

The JLs look so small here. Wonder if have impact in u big living hall.
I can’t rem if it’s a 10" though for the JL. As far as I rem, the impact did not really leave me an impression. But that doesn’t mean it is not good cos of the room volume.
DN has 3 drivers, 1 active and 2 passive …and the throw of the driver is long, it’s also a 12" so it’s different ba… 
I had the opportunity to calibrate Denon X3800H using Dirac Live 3.0 for a friend.
Needless to say, the result so much better than Audyssey and it’s fun to do it on a Denon per say.
Umik-1 mic for calibration will be needed.

Ya it’s really not bad. His surround placement not optimum BUT better seamless panning compared to Audyssey… talk about having different presets of 2 with 3 filters each to play with, that’s 6 profiles you can have.
Let me ask if he ok to do open house haha. I do feel a bit “uneasy” from family members while doing the Dirac sweeps though… 13 points with 12 speakers… 156 sweeps in total.
In that case, better don’t ask lah. It is fine…we should not impose on other people, especially the family members who have to confine themselves in their rooms just because of our presence…somemore we are strangers. So I can fully understand that feeling.

Without doubt, DL is a far more superior room eq than audyssey. I’ve personally tried it before and it is day and night difference.
If your avr supports DL, just go for it. 
i wished my x8500 supported DL. Sigh.
