Wiim Amp - cheap Streamer Class D Amplifier with sub out and room Correction

Hi gurus,

I bought one of these and have been very pleased with the functions for a cheap bedroom setup.

The app updates and device updates are really frequent. I am most impressed with the Room Correction especially since my only other experience is Audyssey XT32. And, since I have gotten it, they have improved the Room Correction to L/R channel!!

Wiim launched a wiim amp pro after my purchase, and had they launch earlier, I would probably get the pro. But having said that, I am completely satisfied with the amp. These Class D amps based on Ti 3255 chips are amazing. Might also get one of those Fosi Class D to play around.

Now looking to add a sub to it to “help” my bookshelf

I’ve been using the Wiim Mini ever since it was released a few years ago. Their app is now very good and handles music stored on my NAS and Tidal. I can even stream DSD over uPnP to it with Audirvana. I’ve looked at Wiim’s new stuff, but have stuck to the mini because I like having a separate DAC and amp. I have one hooked up to a Topping DAC and an amp with TI 3255, but also another one that goes to a DAC and then to my Yamaha receiver. Yet another set drives headphones in the bedroom through a DAC and headphone amp.

Yes, the software is indeed quite good and updated very frequently. Seems to fit your use case perfectly since you are using it as a pure streamer.

For the Mini, I was told that Elipson also uses it and names it WM Multiroom WiiM mini as one of it’s products. This is used in the Redman project that Absolute Sound implemented for the Redman Stores.

Which Ti3255 amp are you using? I am thinking of getting a Fosi v3 mono since it has PFFB implemented and seems quite well discussed in ASR but I am not sure about it’s longevity or maybe a Fosi ZA3.
