You are in the part of the PGen device control tutorial that you are not supposed to be. You are instructed to perform only step 1 and 4. You are somewhere in between

do you use the standard PGenerator version or is it required to purchase Ted version?

I just use the standard. Ted’s disk has patterns you can bring up to check the accuracy of your calibration visually
