What intrigue me about this clip is the concept of a line (ribbon) vs point (coaxial) source speakers…The line source has a narrow dispersion but maintains a uniform sound level while the point source where most of us are using has a wider dispersion but harder to maintain sound uniformity as we move around in the room. The further we are from the point source designed speakers, the more dB we lose out and we need to crank up the volume more. Since we will be sitting down down at a “fixed” location - i.e. MLP, this concept of line source design speaker arrays may pique some interest. A caveat for this line source designed speakers is that one needs to get as big and wide as possible to get the sound to sound uniform so that every seat in the listening space will be the same.
