I believe it is using pixel shift technique to get 8.3 million pixels.

For projector user, yes. It’s a worthwhile investment. If it’s too expensive, then Lumagen Radiance Pro VP is a good alternative.
There is the free MADVR PC, but you need a PC and a high end GPU. Since 2019, the MADVR developer has been focusing on his commercial line, the Envy and Extreme machines, but the free software is still being updated.
