For this performance, nothing can touch it. Sony 5000ES, Epson LS12000B, QB1000 all don’t do as good a job in dynamic contrast and DTM.
There are projectors with superior hardware specs, but the software combination of dynamic dimming, dynamic gamma and DTM is lacking, and the overall image performance is poorer than the specs lead you to expect.
Valerion seems to be the opposite. The hardware is limited, but the software EBL yields a performance that exceeds the expectation. And objectively surpasses a lot of PJ with superior specs.
That seems to be the conclusion from all this data.
Caveat being, rainbow effect seems quite strong on the valerion. One of the modes has less obvious RBE than other modes.
Some have also observed pumping and other artifacts from EBL, dimming and gamma shifting.
