I guess Anthem’s decision not to pay for the license to get Auro 3D is a good move after all…

Ya pretty much game over for Auro 3D

Looks like Auro is making a comeback after been acquired by a private investment firm. In fact, a new Auro3D format for the streaming platform is in the development.

I just tried playing an almost 1GB 5.1 channel DSF file from my Panny UHD player to the Denon X3800H set to Auro 3D. Was very impressed. Auro 3D extends the 5.1 sound to the height channels and it sound both immersive and very dynamic. Vocals retain their clarity. Will be my default mode for multichannel music.
