*Official Thread* Anthem AVM 70 & 90 and MRX 540, 740 & 1140

AVM70 mid to end of Jan, AVM90 to mid of Feb, and not sure whether the price will be up too, due to AKM fire.

I hope not but I have a feeling that Anthem’s future stock will be somewhat affected. Who knows what’s the production rate like for the first batch. Consider Anthem unlucky to have release their latest models (after 5 years) during the pandemic coupled with the fire at the AKM factory. With the global economy affected by this pandemic, people will hold back their purchases and if I’m Anthem, I will probably not going to ramp up the units and see what the future holds before committing the next move. So yes, price will probably remain the same if the first batch had already being in production and credit secured at the previous lending rate. To increase the price at this juncture will be a risky move.

I hope not too, however, the consumer group Anthem series targeting is different from those who bought D/M AVRs, and even the price remains the same, not sure how much mark up by singapore dealers, let’s see…

We will know soon enough. U seem interested as I am.

sure I’m interested, looking for an AVR to replace my ancient 7009, lol

That my friend will be a “vast improvement”. I’m currently using top of the line Denon X8500H but my positive experience with Anthem ARC Genesis during my brief time with the MRX 1120 (Gen-3) makes me want to “revisit” Anthem MRX Receiver again.

it will be, but I’m not in a hurry, so far quite enjoy my old 7009, wondering how much improvement Anthem or Arcam can bring…

New EQ, chipset and tech will most likely warrant a a much better improvement over the 7009.

thats also what i believe.

today got news from China, 70/90 will be released in Jan in China, with HDMI2.1 hardware in place, 8k upgrade through firmware later…

heard someone has pre-ordered 70 in singapore, around S$6k.

Are you upgrading to the anthem ?

I read some good reviews on monolith 16 channel processor. Allows for BEQ as well

One stop solution

not yet decided. HTP-1 can support BEQ, it’s offically in the list of DSP/Prepro in BEQDesigner program already, yes, a one stop solution but no local warranty is a headache.

also eyeing for Anthem 70 too, 6k sounds reasonable price range but I never hear Anthem before, and not formiliar with ARC, so I will wait for some comments in AVS first, or from Desray if he manages to get his hands on 1140/740.

another option is to hand carry a MP40 back from China at the cost of $9K+ vs. $12.3K local price, I’m willing to take the risk, but have to wait for COVID to settle down first.

Nevertheless, I’m not in a hurry now, still enjoying my ancient Marantz 7009 for the time being and wait patiently for next upgrading, lol

TEG, $5900 for 70.

Henry from TEG will try to get one unit of MRX 1140 in before CNY for me…but I’m not holding my breath for it.

cool, take.your time and wait for your comments.

Updates from Anthem…still no joy and we have wait.

Dear Ray,

Thanks for your continued interest in Anthem.

I cannot comment as to “when” Singapore will receive their first shipment of 1140, but I can tell you that Singapore is no different than the rest of the world currently, as we have not begun shipping any MRX/AVM models.

These are very interesting and trying times, in this new COVID impacted world, there have been many delays around the globe with respect to parts and labour shortages / shutdowns. I know there is no comfort in this, but we are not alone, with most receiver and separates manufactures finding themselves in the same proverbial boat right now.

Please know that we are working as hard as we can to get these new and exciting world class products to market, and when you finally get your hands on an 1140, we sincerely hope that it will have been worth the wait!

Dropped another email to Anthem yesterday asking for updates.

Hi John, while I have kept in touch with my my dealer (TEG) regarding the availability of the MRX 1140…TEG informed that Asia will not be getting it anytime soon because Singapore or rather Asia is not one of the continents that will receive the very first batch. Frankly, I’m quite disappointed to hear that.

I just couldn’t help but need to check with you…why is there no official updates (website just merely stated Jan 2021) nor is there any user manual for Some dealers from abroad mentioned that there is delay in shipment mostly on the pre/pro models like AVM 70 (till Feb) or even the AVM90 (as late as Jun). All these speculations and nebulous release dates is making fans like us wanting. Can you at least provide some concrete release date for international delivery so that I can make allocate my funds to see if it is worth waiting for the new Anthem MRX 1140.

Hope to hear some solid reply with some firm answers from you rather than asking me to keep check with my dealer for info.

I knew someone placed order for AVM70 at very attractive price through TEG a few weeks back. Have you placed order already Desray?

Nope…I’m still waiting for a reply from TEG. Last check, not much progress. Anyway I’ve spent my budget on the Lumagen Radiance Pro Video Processor for now. The upgrade to the new Anthem MRX 1140 can wait now.

Received a sms from TEG and was informed that the new MRX will ship to Singapore in March.
