U so fall in love with the JBL Control speakers
My neighbor heard my setup n said he wants the same kind of feel… So I just told him, what u hearing now is what u will get at your own home…
N he trusted me…that’s y basically he followed mostly of what I have presently…
Well done bro Cash…
Thks buddy…wasn’t a easy job to do drilling, trunking, placement, WAF Factor… But I got it done…
Back in xtremeplace days, I used to advertise that I can do basic drilling, placement of speakers for HT, and my dad even though exactly 30 years older than me, was my only follow along assistant to do that tedious job…
Now we have given up… Too much hassle with WAF!!
But for my neighbor, it’s ok… I did it with his assistance…
My dad wasn’t involved…
My dad is already 84 years old now… me 54…
So it was just me n neighbor… Hehehehe!!!
Great job bro…I did my 6 ceiling speakers and I was bushed for a day…
yup, its not easy… me n my dad did only 3 houses as far as i can recall…
After that, we called it a day, n stopped…
not easy at all…trust me…
Will arrange with you soon. At the meantime can you share your thoughts on directional vs the normal setting? What scenes you used to test it? Currently my single sub is sufficient for my tiny room and looking to maybe add 1 more and if the directional is good, more reasons to get 2nd sub fast! But space is super tight…
It Rock’s Man!! its Real!!
its not just “Marketing Hype”!!
if the bass is emanating from the back left surround, it really comes out from the back left area!!
u gotta hear to believe…
try getting 6" or 8" sub’s…
buy 4, eventhough its a tiny room as u have said…
dont worry about “Air Movement”
4 sub’s will be so smooth…
Buy the same brand, model n size…
u wont regret.
XPDD8 Demo Disc, Godzilla vs Kong… these are the few i tested out with…
to be honest, i never even set the “Standard Sub Setting even once”
i set it up as “Directional” from the moment i got the calibration done by “Dragg” in Carousell.
i dont wish Or wanna hear “Standard” anymore…“Directional” is the Future Way to Go!!
Hehehehe!!!
For SGD$2300+, The Denon AVC-X3800H being run as a “Pre”, the chip in “D n M Products” is doing a “Marvellous Job”…
Sadly i would never wanna spend money on Marantz, as it will never have the “Aggressive Grunt” which i want in HT…
Onkyo still doesnt get it, as its only 2 subwoofer outputs, n not four “Independant outputs”
With the 2 Nad M28 PowerAmps pushing “Clean Class D Purifi Eigentakt power”
i can safely say that the top range Marantz Pre n Pro will lose out “Wholesale to my Current Set Up”
Heheehehe!!
Challange ON!!
Anyone who got the top range Marantz pre n pro wanna try at my place? hehehehe!!
Dont worry, if it beats my current set up, i will say so infront of everyone present at the “Showdown” n will also post it here for the whole world to see.
Hehehehe!!!
the JBL’s are not the “Normal” Control 1 Speaker Range (those are the 8Ohm’s version)
Mine are the “Monitor Range” which is 4Ohm’s…
So u gotta be careful in choosing n buying these speakers.
u gotta make sure it’s the JBL CONTROL 1 “PRO MONITOR” VERSIONS. 4Ohm’s, not 8Ohm’s…
You are absolutely spot on bro, you are not wrong in this aspect.
The problem with Room correction is that it most often relates to over equalisation… that’s the biggest problem.:.
Recently I headed over to my relatives place and helped him tune his denon 3700 with the multeq editor, it was fantastic, the denon 3700 sounded really good…
We can switch off bbc dip
We can choose to eq up to Schroeder freq, or only eq where necessary
You can tweak with house curve
All turned off option…
We even compared the manual calibration I did for him vs his audyssey calibration vide the preset option, you can actually A B on the spot which sounds better… and decide from there… clearly he preferred the manual calibration vs the audyssey calibrated version… we also had the minidsp 2x4 hd to dial in the bass
A lot of improvements from denon, quite impressed ! A lot more options for the calibrator to tweak to his heart content … not bad really…
Nice. You did a fantastic job tweaking the system
I been using the Dayton DSP 408 for almost 3years.
Just need to Download the app to phone and using a bluetooth doggie to connect to the DSP-408.
It is a In4x8out dsp. Can adjust everything on the fly from your phone once it is connected. Very convenient to do tweaking on the fly when you test the movie clip. If you found some movie bass was a bit weak or soft. You can have up to 6 preset house curve add and rename. You can also adjust each individual sub gain or all at once on the dsp itself. At time if you want to off (reducing the gain from dsp to zero) a few subs while watching movie or listening to music… . This is also useful when you want to take measurement for each individual sub.
Wow cool ! Nice !! I can see that you are enjoying all the demo and tweaking ! Have fun !
